Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 May 2026
These terms govern your use of ClearBuild ("the Service"), operated by ClearBuild Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
ClearBuild is a project management tool for property owners to track renovation and building work. It includes project organisation, area and task management, file storage, supplier records, quote, contract and invoice tracking, and a timeline of all project activity.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You're responsible for the security of your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. Provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
3. Subscriptions, billing and refunds
- We offer a 3-day free trial. No payment card is required during the trial.
- After the trial ends, you must subscribe to continue using the Service.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly (£14.99) or annually (£149) in GBP via Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- We don't offer refunds for partial periods unless required by UK consumer law.
- We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you don't accept a price change, you can cancel.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of all content you upload: photos, files, project data, quotes, invoices, notes. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display this content for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you.
You're responsible for what you upload. Don't upload anything you don't have permission to share, anything illegal, anything that infringes third-party rights, or anything that could harm others.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service to infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
- Upload or distribute malware, viruses or harmful code.
- Send spam or harass other users.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, occasionally with limited notice for security fixes.
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may close accounts that materially breach these terms, after giving you reasonable notice where practicable.
After termination, we keep your data for 60 days in case you wish to reactivate, then delete it (except where we are legally required to retain it, for example billing records for tax purposes).
8. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We exclude all implied warranties, conditions and representations.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and costs arising from your breach of these terms or from content you upload.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
